The Facilities and Landscaping Committee understands some Residents had questions regarding recent plantings along Kestrel. To respond to those questions and provide some information, the Committee currently has no budget for plants or landscaping so when the Committee was notified on short notice that small shrubs and perennials from the front of the parking spaces next to the Design/Display Homes would be discarded, the Committee was able to transplant them in the Owls Nest Common area along Kestrel Heights where there is currently no plantings. 

For those who may be wondering about plantings in other areas, please be aware that the only Owls Nest common areas that are not already planted is the area along Kestrel between Watch Hill and Owls Nest and, the island further down Kestrel. The other unimproved areas both inside and bordering the Owls Nest community actually belong to Pinehills and not Owls Nest. 

The Committee intends to continue to communicate with Toll regarding any other potentially discarded plants so that we might have the opportunity to continue to improve these limited Owls Nest common areas.  

If any Residents have any suggestions, please feel free to forward them to the Committee, understanding that without a budget to work with, any improvements during this calendar year will require labor and resources from individuals. We will continue to seek assistance from Toll and the BOD as we move forward into the next budget year.

For those who assisted the Committee on such short notice to get these plants in the ground, our sincerest thanks. If you would like to volunteer for any future plantings, please let us know as we can use all the help we can get if and when that happens.

Also, please look for a coming announcement about a Facilities and Landscape Committee town hall where the Committee will talk with Residents about all of the efforts and projects we have undertaken these last two years and, what we are looking forward to in the future.
